Herring and tomato sandwich

Toast the wholemeal bread slices lightly in a toaster or pan.

Slice the tomatoes and wash the lettuce.

Spread mayonnaise on the slices of bread.

Place the Appel herring fillets in tomato sauce evenly on the slices of bread.

Serve the sandwich with the tomato and lettuce.

Season with salt and pepper and serve with mayonnaise and tomato sauce as a dip.
