


Industrial mechanics inspect and maintain industrial machines and systems. You check and maintain the operating systems. You will dismantle parts and assemblies, isolate faults and rectify malfunctions by carrying out repairs. After functional tests, you will arrange for the machines and systems to be recommissioned.
Ideally, you will have the following qualifications:
- good secondary school leaving certificate
- a good understanding of numbers
- An interest in scientific subjects
- An inclination towards manual and technical activities
- A penchant for precision work and a systematic, methodical approach
- Enjoy solving technical problems
- Ability to work in a team
- Flexibility
- Willingness to work hard
The apprenticeship usually lasts three and a half years and takes place in the training company, in training workshops and at the vocational school in Cuxhaven.
